Reports To: Farm Management (Todd & Rebecca Ulizio and Nicole Houston
Hours: Full Time (40-50 hours per week), 5 days a week, overtime paid at standard rate
Position Period: April 6th to mid-October 2026. Preference given to applicants who can commit to the entire duration.

FARM OVERVIEW
Two Bear Farm is a regenerative vegetable farm located in beautiful Whitefish, MT. The farm sits on 99 acres bordering the Stillwater River. About 10 acres of this land are in vegetable production, which includes one greenhouse and six high tunnels. The land is 7 miles from downtown Whitefish, with excellent hiking/biking trails located across the road from the farm!
Two Bear Farm specializes in growing high quality, chemical free, diversified vegetables for our community. We strive to make our food accessible to the entire community, while also emphasizing care for the land, including soil health, biodiversity, and providing wildlife habitat. We sell our food through a 250-350 CSA farm share, via our brick-and-mortar store named The Farmers’ Stand, working with local distributor Wicked Good Produce, and at the Kalispell Farmers Market. We also partner with the non-profit North Valley Food Bank and Land to Hand MT.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are seeking one (1) person with a passion for diversified vegetable production and local food systems. All farm employees are integral members of our 5-7 member team at Two Bear Farm. About half of the team are typically H-2A employees. Over the course of the season, you will be exposed to all aspects of our farm and deepen your knowledge of our regenerative farming methods including: CSA planning, greenhouse operations, produce harvest and post-harvest techniques, transplanting, season extension methods, cultivation, cover cropping, soil health improvement strategies, customer interfacing and small farm marketing.
FARM RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in all aspects of farm maintenance and production.
- Crew members will mainly participate in harvest, wash and pack for CSA and markets throughout the season
- Additional crew tasks will include transplanting, hoeing, hand weeding, direct seeding, greenhouse seeding, bin washing, trellising, and irrigation setup.
- Assist at our weekly farmer’s market on Saturday mornings
- Crew members are expected to maintain focus and mental engagement in the task at hand
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous market farming experience is required.
- Ability to stay focused throughout the day, keeping an efficient pace no matter the activity
- Ability to work in all types of weather (hot, rainy, and cold)
- Experience with physical labor or intense outdoor activity – able to lift 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to remain engaged in a repetitive task.
- Experience driving a manual transmission vehicle. (or willingness to learn)
- A good driving record.
- Spanish speaking is a bonus.
- Extra bonus points for curiosity and a good sense of humor.
TRIAL PERIOD: 30 DAYS
All new members of the Two Bear Farm team will begin employment with a 30-day trial period starting on their first scheduled workday. This trial period is fully paid. At the end of this trial period, employee will participate in a 30-day performance review to discuss progress, expectations and next steps.
THE WORK SCHEDULE: April 6th- mid October
Work at Two Bear Far is seasonal and the length of the workday is based on what needs to be completed that day. and can vary throughout the season. We strive to be efficient and productive so that we can limit our work days to 8 or 9 hours, even in peak season, but we work until important tasks are completed. Extra bonus points for curiosity and a good sense of humor.
- Working Monday-Friday, unless working Saturday Farmers Market
- Our peak summer hours are 7:00AM-4:00PM; 8:00 AM – 4:00PM in the spring and fall (includes a 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
- The farm crew convenes every morning to clarify the day’s agenda and make alterations according to the weather and daily needs of the farm.
- If interested in working Farmers Market on Saturday, schedule can shift to accommodate.
